The old adage: "follow the money" couldn't be more appropriate to our understanding of what has actually been going on under the cover of our "pandemic" response.
This Covid pandemic was, among other things, a trap set for leftists I fear. The right wing predictably rejected any and all government measures to respond to this virus, but the left likewise predictably, and tragically, bought into the narrative that "we have to save lives," "we have to save granny" which led to passively submitting to the profit motives of Big Pharma and the surveillance and social control requirements of the capitalist state, of which they are co-masters along with other industries and oligarchs.
I tend to trust China's numbers, but the death toll in the US I'm sure is greatly exaggerated. China, I believe, used this opportunity to run a drill to prepare for "the real thing" - a biowarfare attack coming from you-know-who. In the imperial center, however, Covid was used as an opportunity to scare large swaths of the public and to polarize the population - more divide and rule - as well as make fist-fulls of cash in the process.
Aside from this, the undeniable fact is, which is now being admitted and coming more and more to light - is that Covid is not dangerous for the vast majority of the population or anyone in reasonably good health. The CDC now admits that over 75% of Covid deaths occurred in people with 4 or more comorbidities. Covid was more of a psychological and economic virus than a physical one, as the lockdowns and constant fear-mongering of the media bear out.
Ben, have an open, frank and honest discussion with your partner, Max. I really think he's right about this, but maybe you can also help him understand that Hannah Arendt was a right-wing CIA asset. ; )
